First summer of the season

Met up with dtikey and rippin fish lips out on the river today. For the most part it was pretty slow on the water... Then dtikey spots a fish! I'm rigged and ready to go so he tells me to come over and shows me where he saw it. So I cast out my bobber/ jig and then he guides me through the drift. On the very first cast, bobber down.... Fish on! It was awesome! It was like something out of a movie or book or something it was so perfect. the fish was very nice amd thick and put up a pretty good fight. Thanks dtikey for helping find my first summer steel! Was fun fishing with both of you guys.

Great to see another one! I'm happy that your fish has a little more size to it than mine or the other ones posted up so far this year. I was kind of worried that we were going to get only little ones coming back. Did you get any measurements or weigh it?

It was 8lbs and was probably pushin 30 inches. Was a very nice fish indeed! The whole "seen" was funny! Congrats Brandon on your first Summer! I fished for about 3 more hours after you left, nothing wanted to play. Yours wasn't the only fish that played today! Some dude got one on a spinner above, was a nice one to. I moved down river around 6:30 and at 7:30 hooked into a nice redside that gave me 3 jumps then ran at me, jumped again (like he was looking at me) and then spit my Hook! I thought it was a steely until it jumped!

Thanks, rippin, I didn't weigh ours but guessing 6-7 lbs? She only went 25 inches though, so bran's was quite a bit bigger.

No problem brandon was nice to get to fish with you again even though only little while and you too rippin lips.Glad to help out and get others into fish since I dont eat them anyways and only give them away or let them go.Hopefully we get some surface temp to come up and they start to go on the bite more this weekend.

Yeah! It was caught on the far seam! The whole time i knew there would be a fish there and the whole time i was wishing we had a drift boat to sit in that spot! It was about the same size as yours, it was so bright it looked White!

Yup! Was just over 8 1/2 pounds and you were spot on with the length! was 30 1/4 inches. Good guess on the length!

You guys know Im very modest and now I am blushing but I thank you guys for the kind words and only can say what I would do you all make your own riggings and set the hooks yourselves then land them.Hookinf fish is the easy part but landing them is the hard part

I learned that one last year!! My hook to land ratio was crap last year... Landed 12 + a nice redside. and lost way to many to count! gunna change that this year tho! And it feels so much better to hook/land fish on stuff you tied!
