First steelhead and it was freeezing

So two weeks ago on the N. Santiam It never got any warmer than around 28 degrees and I spent the morning casting and removing ice from my rod but in the slow and low water I hooked a 30" hatchery hen. I'm hoping for a native winter here soon and hoping the Mollala will produce. Tight lines.

Awesome. Nothing beats a steelhead on a fly rod. Were you swinging or nymphing?

I did both but the swing with a purple articulated fly did the trick!
