I set out this morning for revenge on the Big Nook that busted my leader yesterday and swam away laughing at the Rookie! Who has the last laugh now Mr. Nook. I arrived to the same hole again at 5:30am. I was wondering if there were going to be more bites today. I waded out and drifted with the same setup and no luck. After the big Nook broke my heart Yesterday:naughty: i decided to go with bigger leader. So I switched back to my original leader and made a different setup with Pop A Top Egg Colored yarn, and 2 pink corkies. I waded back out and casted for a 1/2 hr and decided to try and wait until the clouds came over the rapids and the hole below. 10 minutes later my 4th cast and slam, zing, zing, zing I set the hook and the fight was on big time. I ran up and down that damn bank for almost 10 minutes and remembered what Metalfisher told me that he sticks the pole in the water to help the fight sometimes and turn the fish around("Thanks Metalfisher"). I stuck the pole in the water 3 or 4 times and to my amazement a couple minutes later he turned out of the rapids and in a deep hole, he fought for about another 5 minutes and finally gassed himself. I landed this chrome beauty all by myself:clap::dance: Man this was the best fight yet and my biggest Nook so far. I was gonna stay for my limit but my boss ("The Little Wifey" "I Love you Honey") was calling me home and I was pooped. He is 32.5" and if my scale is correct almost 19lbs of Football Chrome. Revenge is Sweet! The guys on the bank across river showed me how to do the Nookie Dance. So I did the little dance and Headed Home. What a Blast. Those Nooks can fight man. I thought my Okuma SST ML action Rod was going to break but it handled it with ease.
