Father son Barton trip

Gonna take my son out to throw a bobber and jig set up. Headed to Barton area. Hope to get him into either a springer or a steel. He has banked a few steel now. But hasn't yet hooked his own. It's only a matter of time. Got good eggs. At least the squaw fish think so. Lol. I'll be throwing eggs and I'll prolly set him up with q nightmare pattern or pink worm. Sand shrimp on the way. Gonna have an arsenal.

Sand Shrimp!! I hit Estacada yesterday and and was using a dark green corkie (im sure dark jig would be fine) and a sand shrimp tail I Crackered 4 fish in a row watching them eat my sandshrimp in dis belief. If the waters high or you want to try else where Above estacada Faraday to Cazadoa is stacked! Good luck-
Ill be up past estacada tomorrow and Saturday morning. I'll be fishing sandshrimp right on the bottom. Tight Lines!

Floated it yesterday, Waco got one on the fly. Watch the bait, there are a lot of juvenile hatchery steelhead right now that will eat EVERYTHING.

Crazy timing. I was just at Estacada an hour or two ago. Snapped my new Lami. I was gonna call you but I figured you were down at school.

Ended up hiking into the fish wier just below eagle fern. Looking for springers. To early yet. Drove back down by our house. Fished the cross park area during the dead of day with ppl swimming everywhere. We decided it was beach bound time. Went down to seaside visited grandma and got 45 nice big razors instead. The crab were a no show. Completely. Not even any juvenile crabs eating bait at 12th st bridge. Did see some eels spawning. That was neat. Also a ton of smolt jumping for flys. Looks promising for the next generation of silvers.
