Do you need a permit to park @ Benson State Park?

I went there with a couple of friends and one of them told me you need this stupid permit to park in the lot although I didn't see any booth with park officials there..

Yes there is a $5 day use fee. Did a web search. Probably a pay box or machine somewhere near the entrance of the parking lot.

Pay the $5.00, the fine for not paying is ten fold. There is a yearly pass for $30.00; this is what I use much cheaper over the course of the year (the year is from the date you purchase it). I just found out this year they offer a senior discount, if you are of age it is a pretty sweet deal.

They also offer a 2 year pass at a dicounted rate of like $45-$50.

It sounds great, but I don't know what waters to fish and what to use etc etc
