So all you die-hards raise your hand if your fishing the coastal waters sat/sun with 5 inches of rain predicted this week-end. With the salmon on a serious up-swing right now. I just bet that the salmon will be up stream just as it starts to clear and cool down and the work week starts. Go figure. Friday bobbers for me. Tony

Rain? what's that?

We had about a half inch fall down here last Saturday and I loved it. It was the first real rain of the season (or year maybe?). Five inches sounds really wet and soggy to me!

Good luck you die hards up there, time to break out the grundens and figure out a way to bail the boat.

Best,

September rain is great for the fish.......

Coming from the East coast, we had a saying: "It's going to rain like a cow pissing on a flat rock".

Growing up in PA it meant I was going to catch a 5+ lb largemouth bass. Out here it means the sturgeon fishing is going to be off the hook. (In case shiny fish don't want to play).

Die-hard this fall season, hand is raised! I will be out storm/salmon chasing... O-dark roll call, should put us on the coast around 6ish.

I will be braving the wind/rain this weekend on the coast. Let's hope it produces fish!

I might beat bush and fish the weekend.

I have Monday OFF, hope the rivers are in good shape!!!

Just got out there today. The winds were raging on the Necanicum tidewater area making it practically unfishable not that they weren't rolling just to mock me. Stopped by the NFN on the way home it was still pretty low with a weak flow but already filling with leaves, raining hard when I left so expect the 3 rivers(trask, wilson,NFN) in that area to go up a decent amount.

I was out from sunrise to 3pm; rain hit the Siuslaw about 11am and just got harder right into the afternoon...feels like we are gonna get a soaking through the weekend...roger

I am a lightweight...next weekend for me

yes, I was out from Sunrise to 3pm in my kayak, from 29 marker down to Rhody Drive bank fishing rocks, the kings are spread out thin, most seem to have spurted upriver, coho everywhere below 101 bridge, I got one on a No.Co.Lures pink bell spinner, about 23" hen, maybe 5#, I let it go to save tag space for larger coho...2 more strikes on my spinners that got off quickly, I saw just a few coho caught but they were mostly just jumping and rolling; no kings boated near me but I saw a few at the launch that might have been caught closer to the ocean or Cushman or above.

NOAA just updated us to very high winds all weekend, gusts to 50 and higher, it has been raining hard all night and gusting, be careful if you are fishing the coast this weekend...
