Took probably my last trip out before spring break today.. Hit the ol' Alsea up again. Float from Mill to Campbell...Expectations were high as the fishing was so good earlier in the week..Well, expectations weren't met.So not too much of a report. Weird today too, A sh** ton of sea run Cutts were in the mix. They were hammering mag lips like no tomorrow....Ended up losing a steelhead on a #4 Bronze blue fox & secured one in the box on a Hot Shot with orange paint on the lip..Our new name for it is the " Beaver "...Was a good day all in all. Fished with no one in sight except for an occasional boat and even got to see a big ol Native swim by in the shallows in the afternoon..Had a red stripe the size of my belt band.... Tight Lines...

Cutts or no cutts it was a great day by the smile on your face. Thanks for the report. The tug is the drug

Nice. Keep them coming

Well that makes me feel better about getting skunked yesterday if you guys didn't see a lot of action, I got to the bridge hole at 7 and had it all to myself until two guys decided it would be the "respectful" thing to do by coming down on the same side as me and low hole me cutting the drift I was fishing in half which pretty much made fishing that hole any longer pointless. Then later that day I got to Clemens and find a nice spot to fish and one of them shows up down there and does the same damn thing!!! I almost took the back way to mapleton to hit the slaw but I was pretty tired by that point so I called it and went home.I have not been up on the Alsea during a good day once this year!

Ahh I see...Yeah the run isn't good this year. There should have been a lot of holding fish in our drift yesterday and they simply weren't there like earlier in the week. Well, they were moving then. Did you happen to see the counts up there? Sunday/ Monday we saw a few fish w/ sea lice on'em... Curious as to if a lot of the fish we were getting into last week are up in the Hatch and that was the last bump of 'em? haha...Im sure there is still some around...But pretty **** poor day for "catching" yesterday for us....

I stopped at the hatchery when I was leaving and there were a few fish in the holding area but not as many as earlier in the season, there were quite a few people fishing the hatchery stretch though.A guy I work with floated the same stretch as you guys with his mom and limited out,he is also a part time guide though and from what I heard it was a late bite that day, they were probably almost strictly back trolling plugs.
