Marine Charleston Fishing Reports

I went to Charleston yesterday.
4 hours on the water harvested 14 legals, a couple of which were really nice sized.
Bunches of shorts and females hanging out in our usual spots
Just couldn't seem to find the bachelor pad for the big males.
Our last soak was in deeper water and that proved to be a mistake.
the incoming tide was strong enough to drag them away.
Found one 1/4 mile from where we dropped it and another a mile upriver.
Rock fish mostly sucked But the one bit we did get resulted in a nice 33'' ling cod I'd estimate to have gone 12 lbs or there about. Not a bad fish for in the shallow bay waters.

where are you putting your pots? we got 24 in 2 hours on Sunday

We usually drop our pots between the 5A buoy and the 7 tower and move them shallow to deep until we find the right spot. this time we just didn't find it.
I like to have the traps within sight of where I fish while crabbing.
I haven't had anyone mess with our traps but that's probably the reason why.

nice bay Ling!

That's usually where we go, but we have been doing better up stream. Try moving up stream a few miles next time. Just my thoughts
