Casting wedding rings?

Anyone so kind enough to shed some light on this subject for me? I am a Bankie and curious if with a couple of split shots if you could toss out wedding ring and still get the same action as trolling if you have the right retrieve? Thanks in advance for any insight.

That is how I rig them fishing either from the bank or boat. I use a barrel swivel between my main line and leader that comes pretied with the wedding ring to cut down on line twist. The only problem I have had is sometimes the leader tangling with the splitshot when I let the spinner sink after casting.

It's definitely worth trying. I hooked into a huge broodstock trout with one after letting it sink for about 5 seconds and using a medium retrieve. I've only had luck with the red and red/orange colors.

I've gotten a lot of 'bows, and some kokes too, with a 1/2 green and 1/2 black bodied wedding ring.
