Breaking in a new 3WT - where to go?

Got my new 5'9" ultra light fly rod today with a 3WT line on, and can't wait to give it a shot. Think about 2 places: Butte Creek upstream from Scotts Mills or Wilson River around MP16. I know, couldn't be more different choices, but thought I'd throw it out there. Thoughts?

Both would be fine choices. Fished the Wilson a few times in the last month gunning for cutts. Lots of smaller fish, few nicer fish. Butte wouldn't be horrible either, I love that little creek. And just to throw another monkey wrench in your plans - I'll suggest a couple more:

Little North Santiam near Shady Cove, or the upper Clackamas between North Fork and the Collawash confluence.

Hmm, lots of choices. I know I'll have a mid-week opportunity to fish the Wilson again soon, so I am leaning Butte. Fished the Collawash a few times this summer. Little North Santiam is an area I need to get to, also - thanks for the reminder!

Good for you! Don't forget to take your camera/phone and let us know how you do. We don't require pics, but we love 'em.

I wish I needed a camera :( No water = no fish. Going to have to check back after these rains. Beautiful location! Left and tried the Molalla at Feyrer Park, but same story there. Maybe it is time to hit the Sandy for some Coho!
