I'm getting ready to head out for my third day of fishing the lower Columbia. As usual it's a slow start here in the river. The big push is still a couple of weeks off. Youngs bay is the best fishing spot at the moment. I had to release a wild coho there day before yesterday and a big chinook broke some 30lbs P line leader yesterday. My friend was not happy when that occured. It should be a good year and when the ocean settles and the tide is right we plan on hitting the big water. The marinas are starting to fill up with boats and people as the August fishery begins. When the big push arrives I'll be sure to post the news.
