I've got one day that I can fish this weekend and I rarely get to actually go fishing. Just curious where you guys would recommend to go that has a better than normal chance of landing a nook or coho. I'll also be with my girlfriend and it would be awesome to get her into her first big fish. Thanks!

Bobber egg/ sand shrimp upper tide water on a coastal river/ stream

He's right. However depending on the drive. I think the sandy is going to kick off this weekend. I think you live near the city correct? About the girlfriend, its going to be raining everywhere all weekend.:dance::dance: There wont be a ton of nooks on the sandy, but there will be loads of coho.

Best shot for salmon??? I prefer oo buck.....fall chinook can get pretty big and it takes a pretty big pellent to bring one down cleanly! ;)

Seriously....the Umpqua is full of salmon right now and the bite has been good!

Yep umpqua is one of the best rivers in the world!!!! Ha ha ok maybe just in Oregon? Ha ha.... I fish there any chance I can get. I also know that they are now pretty spread throughout the system pretty well. tidewater is still producing decent amounts of Coho too!

Thanks everyone! I do in fact live closer to the Umpqua and it's always my first choice but good to have it reaffirmed.Lmao Mad dog that was great. And bran_man thanks! Looks like I'm going to the Umpqua haha

make sure you bring good eggs and some people even use those sandshrimp things!!!I would also say little orange and tiny amount of chartruse yarn

I dont know if I would say 'good'........hopefully the rain changes that.

Haha yea definitely. Well plans got canceled because of the rain. But if I time it right me and my grandpa will go next week right after the rain. Think I'm gonna experiment with some things and yea if all else fails bring a gun lol jk. I'm counting on the rain to get the fish going and thanks Dtikey always good advice. Hope everyone is getting into fish!
