Back from the OFF Trillium outing

I arrived and had camp setup by 9:00 Thursday morning. I went next door and introduced myself to the other OFF members. I had the pleasure of meeting OnTheFly, Raincatcher, Lilsalmon, Jimmy, troutmasta, Jeannajigs, and ThrobbitShane. After visiting for a few minutes we hit the water. I stuck with a Carey Special and brought in 7 bows in the 10"-12" range. That evening a thunderstorm rolled through. The clouds lifted enough so I could actually see Mt. Hood which was hidden all day. The thunderstorm was just a taste of what was on the way. It POURED that night. I awoke to a tent with puddles in it and a wet sleeping bag and pillow, and it was still pouring down. Between my back protesting sleeping on the ground and the wet accomodations I wimped out and packed it up. Half the others were still asleep so I didn't get the opportunity tell everyone goodbye. I had a blast Thursday and really enjoyed meeting everyone. Thank you Jim for organizing the outing. Also sorry I was soooo talkative around the fire Thursday night.

That rain was no joke!! I'm still drying out some of my stuff haha. I wound up taking a nap in the back of Barbs van that morning before I had to pack up and leave. Woke up in the pitch black wet and walked up to the parking lot with no shoes on and I found Rose, and Barb sitting in the van.
Good meeting you Todd. And big props to Jim for throwing another great event!

Jimmy was in the back of his truck when I walked down to tell everyone goodbye. He pointed at the small stream running down the path to where all of you had your tents and asked if I ever saw A RIVER RUNS THROUGH IT. Jeanna's dog Ava was having fun in the pond where the fire pit was.

Lol a river runs through it took place in camp for sure. It was motivation to go home earlier than noon lol. Spent all day drying my stuff, I'm sure Shane's is still wet. Think his sleeping pad was actually floating. It was nice on Thursday though and good times were had. Was good meeting you.

You did a pretty good job schooling us on catching fish Thursday Jeanna. Did you get on the water at all Friday?

No everything was wet and it didn't stop raining so we left about 9-930, I had to be at work at 10pm and planned on leaving around noon anyways since its a 3+ hour drive and I needed to sleep before my shift.

Got home a couple of hours ago. It was good seeing you again Todd. We couldn't get a word in with you....hehe. I braved the rain to go out and fish and got a few yesterday....I never did dry out. I awoke at about 5:30 am with wet socks and Barbs cute little dog at my feet on a soaked sleeping bag. There was a lake in our tent too. Last night I slept in Barbs van. More later...I am going to bed in a nice warm, dry bed.

I'm still drying clothes, but I did finally get warm! It was great meeting you, Todd! The hornets in the campsite were the only unwelcome guests! Nasty little critters stung Rose twice, Troutmasta at least four times and were even rude enough to sting his wife, Ashley in the hiney! How rude!

They are bad this year and they seem to get more aggressive as the temps cool and we head towards fall. It was great meeting you also Barb!

Sounds like all were able to shrug OFF the weather and the hornets and have a good time. Sometimes it is the most challenging trips that are remembered the most fondly.
