thanks man, I was rolling 'green' herring in some heavy rain; got one right away and the other on our last trolling run, 3 hours on the water; not sure if this gives away the location...:D:D:D

Haha nice man! Hope to have similar success tomorrow.

Tight Lines,

Congrats buddy, you deserve it!

But.... two fish.... for you? Maybe hand off one to your son next time! J/K.

LOL,

Way to go! Did you make that knife?

We had a few days on the Siletz. Lots of Chinook being caught...by others, not me. One coho jack to show for the effort. Got to enjoy that big electrical storm with large hailstones yesterday, though.

Looks like you're dialed in early. Keep it up.

LOL,

I have put in some rod hours this year but not nearly what you did down in NoCal this year..

..I was going to hand this one off but on the first long run after it hooked up, the line on my reel locked- at one edge of the spool it had cinched down under and no more line would come out, and this felt initially like a much larger fish, so once I worked it in some the reel was fine but I was concerned if it made a big run with my son on the rod it could get goofy when it hit the jammed line, and we were planning to go in anyway, so we stuck with what worked for the first fish and this one fought like crazy for several minutes and then just was done, very easy netting. He is down from UW for 2 weeks so there is plenty of time to get him on fish....

Give away the location? Naw, no one would know where the green 29 marker on the Siuslaw would be. Congrats buddy!!!

yes, we had 2 pines that the wind was bashing together, a branch on one broke and the stub was scraping on the other tree in the wind, switching from side to side, so I saved that smoothed piece and left it basically as is, just cut a slot to insert the blade and secure it...I also made one with a longer fillet blade using some canyon walnut from a twisted up little tree we have growing out the side of a sandstone canyon in Northern Arizona....cheers, roger

Nice job Roger. It is really starting to pick up on the slaw. My wife hooked an lost 2 last friday with one being a very big fish and then I managed to put a 24# in the boat on Monday. We will back at it tomorrow at daylight.

All blue label west of the CG station
