After 3 straight days of catching nothing...

I've figured it out that it is impossible to catch fish from the bank here. I've read a ton of these threads and have taken their advise and still nothing. After my second day i ran all around town getting power eggs, trout jelly, worms, different gear and this and that and still nothing today. I hiked down through the woods to fish near sein, and soggin. I've tried my luck at the dam and the docks. I am starting to think i will have to wait til september when they stock the lake again to get a fish on my line...

I registered with this site right now, sitting in my car at dock c just to make this post. I am totally bummed out to be going home empty handed again.

First of all, welcome to the forum! We are always glad when new members find us. Second, you didn't say how many days/weeks/months/years you have been fishing. That is an important piece of information, along with your area and the fish you are targeting. Basically, no matter how long you have been fishing, you will have dry spells, just like the rest of us. But, instead of giving up until September, stay here and read some of our archived threads on your area and ask a lot of questions. Most of our members are ready and very willing to help with advice, techniques, baits, tackle, location...you name it. So, welcome and hope to see you here sharing your advice 5 years from now.

Thanks fir the welcome!

I've been fishing on and off since I was a little kid, my dad would take us out to hagg and during the summer we would go to Antelope reservoir. This last few days are the first of the season for me and from all the talk I have been hearing from other guys out here fishing they aren't seeing anything either. One guy has resorted to using green gummy bears because the fish don't seem to want anything in his tackle box:lol:

I have been fishing for trout, using a tackle set up mentioned in another post, lime green and red power eggs with mikes trout jelly to no success.

The only action I have seen is these two damn near frys chasing a powerbait worm i was using trying to see if i had better luck with bass.

I have also tried small crank baits, little cleos, and a small spoon to no luck either.

well I share my frustration with Hagg Lake with you. I actually gave up fishing that damn place a couple years ago. I keep seeing posts about people catching bass there but have never had that success at Hagg. Trout I have always had decent success with on Hagg but not enough to make the trip or the fee worth my time. Dont feel bad Hagg has gotten the best of a lot of us. As I am also new to the Forum in the last month or so I have found some nice reads and some good information on here so come on back and keep up the good work.

Don't give up on Hagg! It can be really hot or freezing cold.
Recently, most bankers have the best luck just before or just after sunrise and again at sunset.
I've seen a lot pulled out around boat ramp C and near the mouth of Sain creek. Others mention aroung boat ramp A as well.

Have you tried Harriet, St. Louis Ponds or Trillium? There's tons of lakes around here that produce.
Just keep trying!

Woz is quite right. The only times worth baking it, this time of year, at Hagg is EARLY and LATE. Otherwise, you'll be wasting your time. When the early sun hits the water, it's a game that only works for trolling deeper/cooler waters in a boat.

Yes, when the water temp gets above 60 you have to get out to the deeper places. I've seen anglers in float tubes do well out about 30 yards from shore in Sain, right through the day. Maybe that's an option for you? I have a pontoon boat and have a good time on Hagg, even with the occasional skunk. Anyway, hang in there and check the stocking schedule.

Go to trillium or lost lake. Take the power eggs and an empty stringer.

Trillllliiiuuuummmmmmmm....:D can't wait....I get goose bumps every time I hear the name...:yay::popcorn::yay:
