4 hour in Portland, where to fish?!!

Hi friends, I'll be taking my friend and his wife tomorrow early morning to Portland for an Exam his wife has to take. The exam takes about 4 hours and I don't want to kill that time! I want to go fishing somewhere and I'm really exited because I've never fished around Portland!
So can you tell me where to go? I'll fish for everything as long as the regulations say it's OK! And I also want my friend to have a good experience going fishing for the first time.

Would you please help me find a close place to "Hazelwood" area?

Thanks
;)

Where is Hazelwood area at?

Hazelwood is the Eastside of Portland - 122nd and NE Glisan....

There's not a whole lot right there. What type of fishing are you looking for?

Trout: head straight out east on NE Glisan to West Salish Pond between 202nd and Fairview Pkwy. The trout pond is the one on the left when you get there. (best option IMHO) The pond on the right has small bass and tiny bluegill.

Steelhead: take I84 out to the Sandy River and cast from the bank at Lewis and Clark, or Glen Otto.

Sturgeon: big bank rods on the Columbia (season is open). You can try Gleason (33rd-ish and Marine Drive), but sturgeon on the Big-C have been tough.

Whatever is in the Water: head into down and fish from the East Bank Esplanade just south of the Steele Bridge (NE Lloyd Blvd). Throw cranks and spoons and you might be able to dig something out of the water.

The salish ponds have some huge bass. The didn't stock brooders so theres not a lot of trout there. Try a jig or senko real slow and you might catch the biggest bass of your life. The biggest bass ive seen out of there was around 10 pounds. Just probe the bottom and hopefully get lucky.

salish ponds are closed

Thank you guys for the comments. I tried two of the Salish ponds and Sandy river, and caught nothing! :D
Not even a bite. I tried brown and white jigs and spinners in the lakes. And spoons and spinners on Sandy river at Glen Otto park.

JB WI: when I drove by I thought they were closed but I was able to access the two northern ponds through the "Salish Lakes apartments". I'm not sure if I was allowed though! I saw people walking and running around the ponds and no one told me anything!

Have fun! ;)
