Fantabulous sturgeon fishing there.

I tired to get there on saturday(to the boat ramp on the gilbert) and the road was closed.I got out of the car and hiked down to the river but where the road used to be there is now a 6foot deep pond about the size of a park.unless you have a kayak or something you're not getting to the boat...

I love the taste of all the fish I've tried. I usually eat what I catch however, I did not read the first post so in that situation I would do catch and release. to the invasive species topic.. Do you kill every bullfrog you see? What about every feral cat you see?

Are there a good amount of trout in the gilbert river? if so what type of setup is most effective for river trout(especially in the gilbert). Are there bass in there as well?if so what type of setup?

Nope. I asked someone who was there on the road and they said that it wasn't.

from the boat launch you walk down the bank through the cow pasture(don't mind the cows). the cow pasture is past the hunting season sign. you will know you're going the right way if you struggle through the mud. once you're out of the mud you will have access to the other part of the bank.go...
