I think it might just not be super productive during winter, I used some lures that were very similar to the fire tiger pattern but no luck. I'll have to go back during the summer this year, I usually stick closer to Portland during the summer since it is a bit of a drive out there from...
Howdy folks, with this nice weather we are having I went out for some winter trout fishing. initially planned to go to Quartzville Creek but found out the road was closed due to a landslide after driving all the way there, I instead went around on 22 to Detroit to fish the Breitenbush River...
Yeah, I'm hoping some people with some knowledge of this area can give me some insight. can't find anything about fishing in that area anywhere online and even info on nearby places out there is super limited. It's just so empty out there.
I was searching on Google Maps and came across Trout Creek which runs along Whitehorse Ranch Lane before running un into the trout mountains. I was curious if anyone knows if it holds fish and if it is worth stopping to check out when I am out there
Hello, I have started to paint my own spinner blades and bodies for trout lures and am looking for inspiration and suggestions on what designs to do. if you have any designs that you know work well or fun/crazy ideas I would love to paint and design them. Thanks
did you see any fish when you were up at quartzville? I went up there last week when it was low and I fished for 3+ hours and didn't even see a single trout
Went up there about a week ago and caught nothing, threw spinners, drifted worms, and other bait. the river was moving fast but it was definitely fishable. pretty clear too but didn't see a single fish in the 4+ hours i was there
How does the Breitenbush river fish this time of year? Looking to head down there for a winter fishing trip. is bank access good? what water discharge level is too high for fishing?
is there a place on here where people post open seats available? i seem to recall seeing it somewhere online but i can't remember if it was here or on another website
Good to know, my dad and I thought they were big bull or brown trout at the time since we didn't think salmon could get past the north fork dam. They hung out on the same small stretch of river the 2 days we were there. They were hitting flies and occasionally chasing the small trout fry, it...
Went up today to check out the fire damage and to fish and saw what were either the biggest brown and bull trout I've seen or were salmon. it was a school of about 15 and they were pushing 30 inches and were probably 8 pounds at the most. couldn't get them to bite anything but I've never seen...
I'm shore-bound sadly, I want to hit up more spots out past the cascades since I haven't been out that direction as much. I have crankbaits, spinners, spoons, soft plastics, and jigs already but most of those are colors and styles I have found to work on the Willamette and up in cascade trout...
Going on a 3 week trip around Oregon in September through the 1st of October and was wondering what lures and equipment I should stock up on, I usually only fish the Willamette for smallies so I'm a bit unfamiliar with the strategies to use out past the Willamette zone. I'll be going for bass...
