A few years ago PK YI, a prolific redtail perch fisherman with many posts on this forum, made a post here an asked if anyone
knew of beaches with steep slopes. I have never caught a perch on flat beaches and probable the same for PK YI.
PK YI is on youtube now and might be the place for more...
Well if it was herring, I thought the boats would be in the bay instead of out to sea.
The parking lot was nearly full, so if it was herring I didn't know it was so popular.
Does anyone use a GPS app on cell phone for marine use?
The Play store has a lot to choose from, so rather then try 'em all, this group

Good luck with that sled of yours around Salem. I have a 16' Smokercraft with a 25 hp and the most I can go it about a mile up or down the Willie. As others state, better to go to Boone's Ferry marina in Wilsonville or to Rodger's Landing in Newberg. Both places charge now as opposed to Wallace...
Whoa now, i was hoping you would be the guinea pig, so I wouldn't waste a trip! :worthy:

Yesterday I went to Keizer Rapids Park to look at their launch ramp. I didn't even know it was there.
Anyone use it and any comments on sand bars and other prop obstacles?

Also I see in the regulations that a treble hook is counted as a single hook. What do you do about barbs on treble hooks?
I have a 16' boat with a 25 and 6 motors. In the summer you can only go up or down the Willy about a mile or two and then it's prop bottom scrapping time.
So beware. Now if you launch out of Boones Ferry Marina in Wilsonville or Roger's Landing in Newberg you won't have that problem.
In 2000, when I lived in Calif. we took a trip to Oregon to see if we wanted to retire there. One of the stops was that rest stop on the Santiam and I saw some boats on the river and started to film them with my camcorder. As I was doing so, one of the boaters noticed me and went to their fish...
